Hi,
I am interested in your pet rats. I would like to ask a few questions about the rats first though. What's the cost per rat?

Calvin,
Thank you so much for replying. I have actually been looking for decently priced rats for a while now. Let's see.. Some questions I have are, are they lean? How old are they? Is it possible to purchase all of the rats? If so is it possible to get a cage at a discounted rate or something? Do you happen to have pictures of them that you can send me in an attached file?
Thanks,
Travis

Calvin,
Thank you once again for your quick response. To answer your first question, I would not know what I would be feeding them since I have never owned a rat of my own per se. However, I'm sure that I could find something at the local pet store. I would believe they sell "rat food" if I'm not mistaken, but please do correct me if I'm wrong.
I do completely understand your concern as to the well-being of your pet rats and I can assure you that I do not own a snake. I find it to be quite cruel and inhumane to use a live animal as pet food.
As far as my "plans" for the rats, I will answer truly and honestly. Several years ago I took a sabbatical and decided to use my time to travel much of Europe, which at one point brought me to Spain. While I was there I found myself dining a bunch of Spain's most famous restaurants, one of which was the 5 star restaurant "el Largarse de Restaurante" and I purchased "elraton la carne" off of their menu. At the time I did not know what it was, but I found that it was the best dish that I have ever tasted in my life. When I finally returned to the States I found out that "el raton la carne" was actually rat meat and that is a delicacy in Spain. Ever since my return I have been craving to taste rat once again. I assure you though that I will not harm or inflict pain on the rats in anyway. I also do not plan on indulging in them all right away. I understand that these rats are pets and I will treat each as such until their time comes.
In regards to purchasing the rats, is there anywhere where you would like to meet to make the transaction? I would be happy to meet with you first and discuss this in person so that I can get to meet the furry critters.
Travis

Calvin,
Why not? Like I said before, I would treat them just as if they were any other pet. Dog, cat, rat.. It's all the same to me. I Believe that all animals should be treated equally, regardless of how small, large, or different they would be. I assure you, Calvin, that I would treat your rats better than anyone else you know could.
Travis

Calvin, I don't understand why you are making such a big deal out of this and resorting to name calling. I mean, in Spain it is actually a delicacy to eat rat. They consider it to be the norm. The only reason that you're looking down on me for this is because American culture deems it to be unfit to eat. I mean, calling me a "freak"... come on.. I am anything but a freak. I'm just an average, everyday normal guy. I'm a Redskins fan, I enjoy watching old movies and I work for an accounting firm in PA. I don't think you can get anymore normal than that.
To answer your question, no I would never eat cat again. I had cat when I traveled to China in 93' and I thought it was absolutely terrible. As far as dog... Never ever would I eat a dog. Dogs actually have souls and I could never bring myself to eat a creature that has a soul.
I don't understand why you would go around and try to keep me from ever getting a pet. Actually, my name is not Travis Long. I would never give my real identity away online, especially to complete strangers on craigslist. Travis is my father's name and Long is my mother's maiden name, so spreading that name around wont really help you, but go ahead and do so if you wish.
Having said this, I still urge you to please reconsider. I would love to purchase these rats from you and I would treat them like they were my very own children. If I have still not convinced you that I am not the ideal owner for these rats, I would be more than happy to make a compromise. Instead of me buying all of the rats for myself, I could keep two and give the other two away to my wife's friends, Ricky and Nick. They're a caring, affectionate couple who would do nothing but love your rats. I can attest to the fact that they would be great pet owners myself because they once owned a few hamsters. They were so in love with those things that they would actually go as far as to bring their cages along with them on all of their weekend vacations.
I look forward to receiving an email from you and I hope that you may put this new offer into consideration.
Travis

You're making a very bad business decision, Calvin, but what should I expect from someone who lacks the ability to spell anything right or use proper grammar. My seven year old son can write better than you.
